Verifier Network
Surge’s Verifier Network plays a central role in maintaining the integrity and scalability of Gameplan’s rollup by handling zk-proof validation and transaction aggregation. This decentralized network of verifiers is responsible for ensuring that all transactions within Gameplan are cryptographically validated before they are anchored on Bitcoin.
How the Verifier Network Works:
zk-Proof Validation: The primary responsibility of the Verifier Network is to validate zk-proofs that are generated by Gameplan’s rollup. Each zk-proof represents a bundle of transactions that have been aggregated off-chain. The verifiers ensure that these proofs are correct and that all the transactions contained within the proofs adhere to the rules of the network. By validating zk-proofs before they are inscribed onto Bitcoin, the Verifier Network ensures that only legitimate and valid transactions are processed, adding an additional layer of security.
Decentralized Proof Validation with dPoS: The Verifier Network operates using a delegated Proof-of-Stake (dPoS) consensus model, which ensures that proof validation is decentralized. In this model, validators are selected based on their stake or the amount of tokens they hold, but they are also accountable to the network participants. By distributing the responsibility of proof validation across multiple verifiers, the network eliminates the risk of centralization and reduces the likelihood of malicious behavior. This ensures that zk-proofs are validated in a secure and trust-minimized manner.
zk-Proof Aggregation: In addition to validating zk-proofs, verifiers are also responsible for aggregating multiple proofs into a single recursive proof. This process is known as recursive zk-proof aggregation. By bundling multiple transaction proofs into one, the Verifier Network reduces the amount of data that needs to be inscribed on Bitcoin. This greatly improves scalability, as it allows Gameplan to handle a large number of transactions with minimal impact on Bitcoin’s blockspace. The aggregated proof is then posted on Bitcoin, ensuring both security and efficiency.
Incentivized Verifiers: Verifiers in the network are incentivized to participate in proof validation through rewards. These rewards ensure that verifiers remain active and engaged in maintaining the network’s security and scalability. The incentive model ensures that Gameplan’s rollup can scale efficiently while relying on a decentralized and secure network of validators.
